As mentioned before, a summer at Camp Lenox is not for everyone. We are looking for mature, responsible men and women ages 19 and up who have completed at least one year of college. As a staff member, one of the ways you demonstrate your commitment to the mission of Camp Lenox is by your willingness to arrive at camp for Staff Orientation and remain at camp until its conclusion.
You will spend the summer living, eating, playing and sharing first with your group of campers and then with the entire camp community. Your first and foremost responsibility while at camp will be their health, well-being and happiness. Be prepared for everything from drawing out quiet campers to refereeing pillow fights. Anything and everything will be required of you.
You will have a lot of fun at Camp Lenox, but your first priority will be the needs of the campers you serve. They will spend most of their time with you and your influence on their lives is profound. Your own personal example will influence them more than your words.
With a busy schedule to maintain, periods of rest and renewal are vital. During the course of the summer, you will receive 3 nights off per week and five days off from the entire session. The natural beauty of the country and the various attractions surrounding camp provide a wealth of opportunites for your enjoyment.
