Camp Birthday is always celebrated on the Sunday following Visiting Day. The day begins with our traditional “lake dunk” where any willing camper found outside of their cabin can be carried into the lake, pajamas and all.
After breakfast, campers and staff run the mini-marathon on a course marked throughout camp. Then comes a Spirit Contest. Every age group dons crazy costumes and vies with one another to show their love of Orange and Black through songs, skits, and cheers. The wildest, most enthusiastic skits win the event, but there are a lot of them, and competition is fierce!
The highlight of the day’s festivities is the evening Carnival and BBQ. Each bunk sets up their own creative booth alongside special rental booths brought in for maximum fun. Past booths have featured fishing games, pillow fights, eating suspended donuts, pin the socks on Barry, scooter races, shaving the balloon, and guessing the number of M&M’s in a jar. Everyone loves the staff hotdog eating contest!
