Big Trips

Campers ride Campers ride "Untamed," a steel roller coaster at Canobie Lake Park in Salem, New Hampshire.

Each group has a number of day trips throughout the summer. As campers get older the frequency of the day trips increase. These are fun days that take a break from the routines of daily camp life.

Toward the end of the summer, every group takes a Big Trip to a tourist destination in the New England area. The youngest campers have a long day trip while campers going into grades 5 – 10 hit the road for two, three, or four nights depending on age. Collegians — the oldest campers, who are spending their final summer at camp — travel to Canada for six days.

Other destinations include Lake George, Boston, Lake Mystic, Newport, Kennebunkport, Cape Cod, and Toronto by way of Niagara Falls. Staff members and an administrator travel with each group as they visit water parks, zoos, and other places of interest at each destination.
