It's winter at Camp Lenox! These photos were taken by Emma Katz's family when they were on a recent trip to the Berkshires! Shaw Pond is frozen...the trees are bare....the silence is golden; until May 24th when the first pre-camp staff members arrive for summer 2010! Can't wait!

Camp Mom and Doctor Jane Aronson Named Glamour's Guardian Angel Woman of the Year

Congratulations to our very own Camp Doctor Jane Aronson on being named one of the Glamour Women of the Year. Alongside names such as Michelle Obama, Maya Angelou, Maria Shriver and Amy Poehler, Dr. Aronson accepted the award on Monday, November 9 at Carnegie Hall. Jane is the founder and director of the Worldwide Orphans Foundation, an organization that sets out to "transform the lives of orphaned children by taking them out of anonymity and helping them to become healthy, independent, productive members of their communities and the world."
We are so proud of Jane and all her accomplishments, and are so lucky to have her and her family as part of the Lenox community. And we are proud to boast that Glamour's Guardian Angel will be back as Camp Doctor in 2010! Congratulations Jane!

Mazel Tov to Brett and Evan Geffner on their recent Bar Mitzvah. Many Lenoxites were in attendance to witness the big day, and hear them as they performed beautifully.

St. Mary's International Wins Far East Championship

Lenox's very own Fred Sava and Toni Taniguchi teamed up to win the Far East Basketball Championship in Japan. Sava coached the Titans to a victory over the Yokota Panthers by a score of 35-33 on Saturday, February 23. For Sava, it was his first Class AA title since 2002.

Toni was chosen as Tournament MVP and was named to the Tournament All-Star team after grabbing a key rebound and sinking two clutch free throws in the final minutes of the game. We have learned at Lenox that Toni is capable of heroics, especially with his 29-point performance to lead the way in the 2008 Pittsfield Championship game.

L.A. Lenoxites Reunite on April 3rd!

The Moss/Brown family packed their bags for a fun-filled weekend in L.A.; beginning with the Lenox reunion at the Kalt's beautiful home in Encino. We enjoyed ribs and chicken on the BBQ, topped off with make your own ice cream sundaes! The energy that filled the cool California evening, could ignite any Lenox torch! We welcomed some of our California alumni; the Schaer brothers, Dave Swartz, and the Silverstein brothers! The Ackers made their way from Long Island, to share in the celebration of Ryan and Dylan's B'nai Mitzvah. Congratulations, Silverstein family! The boys lead their service with confidence and determination, and we were so proud to join in their Mitzvah!
A big thank you to Emily, Scott, and Harrison Kalt for hosting such an amazing reunion!

A Trio of Lenox "Juniors" Reunite in San Fran!

A few Junior girls had a little reunion on Saturday, March 22nd. Penina Remler and her mom arrived in San Francisco, California on Thursday night to visit Ariella Rosenthal and Kelly Skeen and their families. The fun began on Friday when Penina and Kelly went all around the city with their Moms. On Saturday, Ariella came into the city to hang out with everyone. They had a blast and talked about all their fun memories of camp!

"We are so excited to be back for our fourth summer!"

Alexa's Bat Mitzvah!

Saturday, March 1st, was Alexa's Bat Mitzvah, and the Moss' joined Alexa and her family and friends(and Lenox friends!) for a beautiful celebration. She read her prayers with confidence, and displayed such grace throughout the service. One of Alexa's Mitzvahs is donating a portion of her gifts to "Focus for a Future", which will benefit scholarship campers that attend Northeastern summer camps. Mazel Tov, Alexa!

Florida Reunion 2008

Friday night, February 22nd, the Florida Lenox contingency of campers, parents and staff, joined together to meet/reunite at Gameworks! We welcomed many new campers to Camp Lenox, with the familiar spirit, and warmth that consistently embraces our camp community. Each camper received a game card and delicious chicken finger dinner, then hit the arcade with a vengeance! We could already feel the excitement for summer 2008 escalate, with the many questions about "who's returning", and "what's new in camp"! The night was a blast, a little taste of what's yet to come this summer!

Every year the Florida Camera Club Council has a contest. Photographers can enter any or all of their winning photographs from that year for another judging. This is the second year Adrienne Bergen, our camp photographer, has entered photos. Here are her winners featuring campers and activities from Camp Lenox.

Swimmer took 3rd place in the color category.

Long Shot took first place in the black and white category.

It is 65 degrees and sunny here in Florida, and we can still feel the excitement and anticipation of the holiday break upon us! Our kids are SO ready for a break from school, so we can imagine that you all feel the same way! We will be driving to the west coast of Florida for some relaxation on the beach! If you are vacationing, please share your trip notes for all of the Lenox community to enjoy. If you plan on visiting Lenox friends, you must SEND US photos and news of your reunions!
