Camp Lenox has the following facilities.
This fabulous indoor gymnasium holds one regulation basketball court, 2 cross courts, a scoreboard and plenty of room for a variety of indoor games. It also houses a weight training center, a dance studio and a gymnastics room.
Aspiring archers need look no further than our pristine range to hone their markmanship.
Located on the ground level of the Lodge, the arts center houses a wide array of creative activities. These activities include bead work, tie-dyeing, painting, paper mache, model building and much, much more. Did we mention our ceramics program with potter wheels and a kiln?
We play America's pastime on 3 manicured fields along with 2 batting cages. Daily clinics, intramural leagues, intercamp teams and competitive tournaments are all offered throughout the summer. Or program is directed by our 3rd year college coach Joe Rodden who eats, sleeps and dreams baseball. His program stresses fundamentals, bat speed, and a healthy dose of fun.
We have a wonderful base camp on the outskirts of the camp's property where you will learn to build a fire, raise a tent, take hikes, and sleep out under the stars. We also offer an optional one-day white water rafting trip.
Lenox has built one of the finest basketball programs in camping today. This popular program is pursued on 4 outdoor courts (2 with night lights) and 2 indoor courts. Our daily clinics, intramural leagues, intercamp and tournament teams are co-directed by 15 year veteran high school coach Fred Sava and 17 year vet Jack Kaminer. They are assisted by two more high school coaches. Whether you are a beginner or an AAU player, Camp Lenox will take your abilities to the next level.
There is no better place to cool off and relax with friends than the Campers' Lounge. Canteen snacks and personal essentials are dispersed from the lounge 3 times a week for all campers. It also has a big screen TV for hosting late-night movies.
The Camp Lenox dining room is an architectural wonder. Built in 1940, it sets upon the water's edge overlooking beautiful Shaw Pond. Wrapped with large windows, this breezy facility offers delicious meals, an extensive salad bar, weekly barbeques, and special theme nights throughout the summer.
Daily clinics in football and flag football leagues make this one of the most fun sports in camp. If you love the gridiron, don't miss out! We also feature lacrosse - one of America's up and coming sports. We offer daily clinic instruction, recreational play and intercamp games throughout the summer.
Hone your skills at the golf net, putting green and pitching green. We also offer a special one-week program at Cranwell Golf Resort for the emerging players who can't get enough of the links. Tournament play and frequent trips to local courses during the summer let's you put your abilities to the test.
This new facility has 3 semi-private rooms for campers, a triage center, and a medication dispensing area. Our residential medical staff includes a doctor, 2 nurses and a medical assistant.
This beautiful, new 12,000 square foot building hosts all of our big camp events and its unique versatility makes it the center of camp. It has a large stage with full lighting for our theatrical productions and a big screen TV for rainy days and evenings. A state-of-the-art video editing facility and the camp radio station, WLEX, are also located in the Lodge.
Moss Park is one of the most beautiful athletic fields in the Berkshires. It features a regulation soccer pitch and two smaller cross fields for younger players. Six goals set up around the field allow soccer clinics to be very personal. Intercamp and intramural tournaments round out the soccer experience. Paul Kennedy, our 7th year soccer director, has fashioned a program as engaging as it is rigorous.
In our continuing effort to improve and develop the Camp Lenox facility, we have built a new athletic field for recreational sports that will be ready for use in 2007.
As you can see the office is right in the middle of camp, easily accessible to all campers. Rich and Stephanie have their offices here and live next door. The office is the camp's nerve hub where all of our administrative work is done. You'll call your parents from here on a weekly basis.
Our roller hockey rink is complete with night lights and special lockers for campers to store their equipment. Daily clinics and intercamp tournaments make this fast paced game exciting from start to finish. If you like to keep your ice skating skills sharp, we also offer a special ice hockey program on the weekends.
Are you into extreme sports? Then you'll want to try the zip line, the 30 foot climbing wall and the tight rope in the trees. Discover the spider boy or girl in you with our nine station ropes course.
Lenox welcomes avid players with a 12-court tennis complex, complete with red clay, Har Tru, and all weather courts. Whether you're an enthusiastic beginner or a seasoned expert, our peerless instruction will improve your abilities. Daily clinics, private tennis lessons, recreational play, and competitive tournaments are offered throughout the summer under the personal supervision of our tennis director of 16 years, Ranjit Shinde.
Our volleyball court has hosted some of the most fierce competition anywhere. Come learn the basic techniques and play on our tournament team.
The camp's largest facility is actually 9 watersports programs wrapped into one. Daily lessons in swimming, waterskiing, wakeboarding, sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing, make Lenox a paradise for all water lovers. In addition we have a swim team and sailing team that compete in meets and regattas throughout the summer. If you're looking for more recreational fun, we also have a Blob, a waterslide, a water trampoline, a log roll, and, of course, a large assortment of tubes.
