How “co-ed” is Camp Lenox?
Our daily program is run separately with boys and girls using the same facilities at different times throughout the day. In the evenings, after dinner, boys and girls in the 6th grade and older will have age appropriate activities throughout the week. The older the age group the greater the frequency of these activities.
What are the cabins like?
All cabins are spacious with ample cubby space for clothes. Each cabin has electricity, sinks and toilets. All the girls’ cabins have shower facilities within the cabin. Boys ages 7-12 also have showers in their cabins. Boys ages 13-16 use individual shower facilities outside the cabin.
Are there any religious services at Camp Lenox?
Lenox is a non-denominational camp but we do offer an optional Friday night Shabbat service. We also provide transportation to local churches for campers.
How competitive is Camp Lenox?
There are several levels of competition available at camp: intramurals, intercamps, and tournaments. No matter which level of competition the camper is involved in, it always centers around FUN and skill development. In addition, as with all our activities, our campers' well-being is our first priority.
Is Camp Lenox a uniform camp?
No. We do have uniforms that campers use for intercamp and tournament games. All other times campers wear casual sport clothes.
How about the food at Camp Lenox?
Lenox has an extensive menu that focuses on healthy fresh foods. We have a creative “children’s” menu suited for even the pickiest of eaters along with a restaurant style fruit or salad bar at all meals. Special dietary concerns can be accommodated with advance notice.
The entire camp eats together. Meals are served family style by waitresses. Cabin counselors sit with their campers during mealtime.
What kind of medical facilities and personnel are available?
Lenox has a new state of the art medical facility. Two live-in, full time nurses, one part time nurse, and a physician make up the medical team. Berkshire Medical Center is 30 minutes away from camp in the event further medical treatment is needed.
Parents must provide their own coverage for illness and dental occurrences that require medical attention.
